ec2-api-tools software package provides Amazon EC2 API tools, you can install in your Ubuntu 16.04 LTS (Xenial Xerus) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install ec2-api-tools
ec2-api-tools is installed in your system.
Make ensure the ec2-api-tools package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep ec2-api-tools *
You will get with ec2-api-tools package name, version, architecture and description in a table
